“Jason was prompt, very knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough in his work. We had a lightning strike hit our house in the Cape neighborhood in Wilmington. Several electronics and household fixtures were damaged, including our garage door, irrigation control box, several recessed LED lights, a ceiling fan fixture, and an electric fireplace. He came out promptly after our initial call to give us a quote and quickly assessed the damage. Upon inspection of our breaker box and AC unit, he found several areas of poor wire contact, causing excessive heating and posing a potential fire hazard to our home, and resolved these issues immediately. He replaced all broken fixtures and installed our recessed electric fireplace. He also worked promptly with our insurance company to provide all the paperwork we needed to file a claim. “I live in Riverlights, and I contacted Jason from Waverider because my EV charger was tripping the breaker (it was plugged into a 220 outlet that was wired by the builder’s electrician, not hard-wired). There was also a crackling sound and a burning smell. Jason came out and recommended hard-wiring the charger, so he pulled thicker wire and hard-wired it. He was very knowledgeable about the proper installation of EV chargers. (When we built the house, I told the builder that I needed a 220 volt outlet for an EV charger, but I don’t think the original electrician was very experienced with EV chargers). It’s good that there are skilled people out there that know what they are doing.”
